Jan van Tonder is a journalist, author and playwright.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
His plays include Lewensreg (first produced by the University of the Free State Drama Department in 2007) and Die Onbeholpe Djin (produced by Delo Produksies, 2011).
He also co-wrote the script for the film Roepman, based on his novel of the same name.
