Performance history in South Africa
1866: Performed by the former members of the Le Roy and Duret Company, managed by James Leffler, as Found in a Four-wheeler (and billed as "a new comedy from London") in the Harrington Street Theatre, Cape Town, on 19 November, as afterpiece to The Colleen Bawn (Boucicault).
1867: Performed as Found in a Four-wheeler by "Le Roy's Original Company", in the Harrington Street Theatre, Cape Town, on 3 January, as afterpiece to The Green Bushes (Buckstone).
1870: Performed as Found in a Four-wheeler by the Young Men's Institute and Club Dramatic Company, in the Institute Assembly Hall, Cape Town, on 24 and 28 May, as afterpiece to Time Tries All ().
