THIS SECTION BEING EDITED - SEE THE FULL LIST WHICH CURRENTLY STILL APPEARS BELOW AS ORIGINAL LIST The entries in the second list that are indicated in RED have not yet been edited, those in BLUE have been done and can be used.

Using this listing

The lists are all arranged alphabetically according to the title of the play, the title of the collection of plays , etc. It is important to note that there may be a number of versions of a play's title, and that works may in fact be translations and/or adaptations of other plays and stories. In such cases the play will be discussed under its original title in the original language (as far as possible) and listed under its original title as well as the translated title.

Similarly, a play assumed to be a foreign play, may in fact be a South African work. So if readers are unsure, they are advised to consult both lists when looking for a play.
