Danny Kaye (19*-). Actor, singer and comedian.
The son of Russian Jewish immigrants. A stand-up comic who dazzled broadway in the Straw Hat Revue.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
ACT booked him to play in Johannesburg in 1954. He starred in the Reps production of Shaw’s Androcles and the Lion, directed by Charles Hickman at the Alexander Theatre in 1969.
