Stian Bam (19**-) Actor.


Biography

Born in Walvisbaai, Namibia, where his father and mother were teachers. Married a jeweller, Truda Serfontein, in 2009.

He studied at the Stellenbosch University Drama Department.


Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a student he appeared in three of the one-act plays that form part of The Kentucky Cycle (2003), also in Die Kersieboord (2004), Bloeiende Lente (2005) and Slaghuis (2006).

Other productions on stage include Altyd Jonker (2006), Lang Dagreis na die Nag (KKNK 2008), Die Sendeling (2011), Skollies (2011), Spyt (2010-2011), Lot (2011-2012), Betésda (2010, 2012), Babbel (2012), Die Rebellie van Lafras Verwey (2012), Die Vrou Vantevore (2013), Trippie (KKNK 2013), Rekmerke: Grepe uit 'n Swangerskap (KKNK 2013), macbeth.slapeloos (2014-5), Die Gangsters (2016), Pa (Woordfees 2017).


Television

TV work includes leading roles in the popular SABC soap opera Sewende Laan and KykNet productions Vallei van die Sluiers and Fees van die Ongenooides (Feast of the Uninvited)

Film

Awards, etc

Winner of several awards for his stage work, including the Fleur du Cap Award for Most Promising Student (2006) and best supporting and leading actor.
