Adam Neill. (19**-) Actor, director and playwright.

Biography

Youth

Born in Zimbabwe, he began as actor at 15 in Kes.

Training

He studied at the Rhodes University Drama Department, completing a B.A. Honours degree in Drama in 1994.

Career

Going on to become a actor and director in Britain for some years, working for stage and TV. Returned to Zimbabwe to direct Macbeth, Accidental Death of an Anarchist and his own play DARK. Joined the British company Over The Edge Theatre Company as a partner in 19**, being involved in their productions of i.a. Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew, King Baabu and Born African

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a student he had roles in Epiphany (1991), Now There's Just the Three of Us (1991), Hamlet, directed by Ise van Hemert, 1992; he directed Curse of the Starving Class 1994.

Champ.

Based in Cape Town, his South African work includes Much Ado about Nothing (Maynardville, 2005) as Friar Francis, Hamlet (Baxter Theatre, 2005).
