Youth
Training
Went to school at Grey College, Bloemfontein, studied at the University of Cape Town and later became a teacher and Associate Professor there. Also studied at York University Toronto.
Career
He became a teacher and Associate Professor at UCT.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Won the Rosalie van der Gucht Prize for New Directors in 1989 and went on to become a successful director of student and professional work in Cape Town.
Productions include: French Gray, Miss Margarida's Way, Macbeth 2004, Twelfth Night 2006, Sacred Elephant (Cape Town, 2012), Between (Cape Town, 2013).
He has appeared on stage in The Glass Menagerie.

Co-wrote and directed Sacred Elephant (2012).
Décor and costume A Doll House, designed The Rimers of Eldritch.
He is one of the judges for the awarding of the Brett Goldin Bursary.
Awards, etc
Won the Rosalie van der Gucht Prize for New Directors in 1989.
He was the Young Artist Award winner for drama in 1997.
