Die Dame met die Kamelias
Die Dame met die Kamelias, translated from the original French play La Dame aux Camélias, was directed by the French director René Clermont during the fifth Republic Festival in 1966 for its performance in the Hofmeyr Theatre. Berdine Grünewald played the ill-fated heroine and Johann Nell and André Walters (as Armand Duval) played the other leading roles. The play also visited Stellenbosch, Worcester and Bellville. According to the programme Wilhelmien van Zyl did the translation but Clermont, Nerina Ferreira, Laurie van der Merwe and Berdine Grünewald did a lot of work on the script.
