1860: Performed on the Eastern Cape border on 29 October by the Sergeants of the Regiment (North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot) as afterpiece to Macbeth (Shakespeare). The cast of the farce consisted of Sergeant J. Lydon, (Mr Caraway Calpepper), Sergeant-major T. H. Smith (Mr Septimus Smith), Sergeant F. Edwards (John, a servant), Lance Corporal J. Davies (Diana, Culpepper's daughter), Corporal G. Brown (Louisa, Culpepper's niece).
