The original text
A play based on the life and death of the famed Afrikaans actor, André Huguenet, written in the 2001, forty years after the death of the great actor-manager. First performed in 2001, with additions by the director, then published by Protea Boekhuis in 2002. Both performance and text were highly regarded as a tribute to a theatre legend, though assessments of the quality of the play varied, many finding some of the references to theatre matters and personalities in the play rather obscure for non-specialists.
