Tauriq Jenkins (19**). Actor and poet.

Born in Zimbabwe, he studied at the University of Cape Town.

Theatre roles in The House of Kulumba (20**), Othello, Buckingham Palace, District Six, The Trojan Women, Les Splendids, The Passions, King Lear (Roy Sergeant, 20**), Oedipus (Roy Sergeant, 20**), The Bacchae (Roy Sergeant, 20**), Macbeth (Maynardville, 20**), Hamlet (Mark Hoeben, 20**), Antigone (Baxter Theatre 2004), Much Ado about Nothing (Maynardville, 2005), Hamlet (Baxter 2005), Amadeus (Baxter, 2006).

Film work includes The Mercenary.

His two volumes of poetry, Uncle Bob and Djuranovi have been published internationally. He became the Deputy General Sectretary of the Performing Arts Network of South Africa (PANSA) in 20**).


Theatre programmes : two copies of a programme for Coconuts and Marulas, written and directed by Tauriq Jenkins, presented by the Independent Theatre Movement of South Africa [ITMSA] during the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in July 2009.
