He studied drama at the University of Pretoria.
Career

Acting roles in Nag, Generaal (1988), Die Vleiroos (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 1995), King Lear, Uncle Vanya, The Merchant of Venice, Three Sisters, Die Vleiroos, Huis Clos, 'n Koffer in die Kas, Kopstukke, Egoli: Die Movie.
He was assistant to Lucille Gillwald for Sing jy van Bomme.
Plays directed include Mis, Double Bill, On the High Road, Hans Pienaar’s Kom terug Saartjie (2005), Deirdre Venter’s Verwagtings (KKNK, 2007), Die Krismis van Map Jacobs (2012).
He appeared in Stephan Bouwer's television production of Die Kersietuin and has played in numerous television dramas.

Nominee 1991 in Kopstukke (Anton de Waal Award for best actor in a leading role in Afrikaans); in In Kamera (Johannesburg Civic theatre Award for best actor in a supporting role in Afrikaans).
