The Rishile Gumboot Dancers is a Soweto based dance and singing company

The company
Founded as "Rishile Gumboot Dancers of Soweto" in 1990 by singer, dancer and guitarist Vincent "Viva" Ncabashe, the company became am international success, notably for its part in the creation and performance of the international hit Gumboots. Later also known simply as the Rishile Gumboot Dancers.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
The company were co-creators of and performers in the musical show Gumboots (Market Theatre, 2002) with Zenzi Mbuli and Wayne Harrison.
