Gumboots is a musical production created by Vincent Ncabashe and the Rishile Gumboot Dancers of Soweto, with Zenzi Mbuli and Wayne Harrison.

The original text

Arising from the widespread popularity of the so-called gumboot dances of the South African mines, and their transferal to urban setting (e.g. malls, festivals and so), this show was created by Vincent Ncabashe and the Rishile Gumboot Dancers of Soweto, with Zenzi Mbuli and Wayne Harrison and taken on a series of immensely popular tours locally and internationally from 2002 onwards.

2002: Directed: Zenzi Mbuli at the Market Theatre. Cast : Mfana Jones Hlophe, Fana Khoza, Thabo Mathiba, Thulu Mkhize, Vincent Ncabashe, Nicholas Nene, Samuel Nene, Brian Muzi Nkosi, Lloyd Tathebe, Thabiso Setlhatlole. Musicians : Eddie Mathiba (keyboards), Mabeleng Moholo (percussion), Lucky Thobela (drums).
