Biography

Training

Career

He pursued a career in Computer Programming before turning to theatre. He started as stage manager for the impressario Ronnie Quibell, then became stage director for the Brickhill-Burke Company. He ran his own decor construction company and was head of PACT's workshops for two years in the early 1980s. Subsequently, in association with Andrew Botha, he freelanced in set and lighting design.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Set designs include: Annie,Popcorn (1999), Death of a Salesman (2001) at the Baxter Theatre, ** Fiddler on the Roof (2007), Soweto Story (Deon Opperman, 2007), *

Lighting designs injclude: Wild Honey (1986), The King and I (1986), Barnum, Gigi (PACT, 1992), A Moon for the Misbegotten (1992), Snow White and the Seven Dofs (1999), Grimm Tales (2007).

Together with Andrew Botha he converted the old B.G. Alexander Nurses Home hall into the Adcock-Ingram Auditorium for PACT circa 1987.

Awards, etc

FNB Vita Regional Theatre Award (Gauteng region) for best set, Popcorn and best lighting design in Sno' White and the Seven Dofs, 1999.
