Dimitri Nicolas-Fanourakis (19**-). Artist, designer, director and stage manager.
Contents
Biography
Dimitri lectured in photography at Michaelis Art School, Cape Town, in the 1970s. He subsequently moved to England.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He worked at The Space in the 1970s, Lighting and stage management Dimetos (1975), lit Mixed Doubles (1975/6), Medea (1977), directed and lit Ashes (1976), The First South African (1977), directed Miss South Africa (1975), The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (1976), Endgame (1976), Magic Afternoon (1976), MacRune's Guevara (1977), co-directed The Incredible Jungle Journey of Fenda Maria (1977), directed, co-designed (with Bee Berman ) and lit Sea Anchor (circa 1976) and designed Lysistrata S.A. (1977).
He also presented two performance art pieces of his own there and was building manager for the revamping of the new Space Theatre in Long Street.
