His son Albert Maritz and grandson Viljé Maritz are also theatre personalities.

Since 1953 he has been a regular actor in radio plays.

Performed in Takkie se Wêreld, Klein Kroniek (as the Narrator), Die Reënmaker, Faan se Trein, Faan se Stasie, Die Koggelaar, Cyrano de Bergerac, Op Hoop van Seën, Kringe in 'n Bos, Plaston: DNS-Kind, 'n Wingerdstok sal Rank, Foxfire, 'n Skip is Ons Beloof.

On television he had a role in Die Vlakte Duskant Hebron.

He had a role in the film Kaalgat tuseen die Daisies.
