She was married to Morné Coetzer and their son, also Morné Coetzer, is an actor and radio and television personality .

Career
She started her career as a member of the company of Jean Plaatstultjes. Later she joined the Hanekoms, played for JAATS and for several years she worked for the NTO.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She made her debut for NTO in 1954 in So praat die ou rivier. She had roles in Die Twisappel, Oupa Kanniedood (1957), Skrikkeljaar (NTO, 1958), Nie vir Geleerdes (NTO 1960), Agt Vroue (1965).
She acted in the films Bou van 'n Nasie and Lord Oom Piet and became a favourite actress on TV in series such as Nommer Asseblief (as tant Betta) and Egoli.
