Play it again, Sam by Woody Allen. opened on February 12, 1969 and ran for 453 performances. It also featured Diane Keaton and Anthony Roberts. Allen, Keaton and Roberts would reprise their roles in the film version of the play in 1972 (directed by Herbert Ross).
Staged at The Space (Cape Town) in 1978, directed by Brian Astbury with Gillian Burl, Pippa Duffy, Andrea Fine, Liz Hardy, Errol Hart, Peter Hirschson, Tom St Clair-Laing and Prism Schultz. Design by John Nankin and Marge Watson, lighting by Brian Astbury, costumes by Yvonne van der Heul and Birrie le Roux and stage management by Arthur Benjamin.
