De Kat ("The cat") is an arts and culture magazine (1985-).
The publication
Originally founded in 1985 as a glossy lifestyle magazine by the arts journalist Johan van Rooyen . Initially published in Afrikaans only, it has been available in an English version since 2006.
Initially owned by Penta Publications, later by Nothemba Media and eventually by African Sky Media
