Alan is a qualified high school teacher and taught English, Afrikaans and Drama for five years in Cape Town.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He had roles in Diepe Grond, 1995, Macbeth, 1996, Noises Off, Lovborg's Women, Little Shop of Horrors.

One-man performances as comedian include One Man, One Remote, Stressed to Kill, Stressed for Success! (directed by Christopher Weare), The Sound of Laughter 2015.

Defending the Caveman - took over from Tim Plewman in 2007.

Awards, etc

Nominated as best supporting actor, Bedside Manners.

He won a Naledi Award in 2008 as best comedy performance in Stressed to Kill.
