Jacob Ben-Ami (1890-1977) American Jewish actor [1].
=Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Jacob Ben-Ami was to arrive in Cape Town from America on 25 September 1951 to perform in two plays presented by the Sarah Sylvia Company in the Labia Theatre, viz Death of a Salesman and Samson and Delilah, the latter by Sven Lange.
He starred in and co-directed Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, which was the first outside production to be performed at the new Johannesburg Repertory Theatre in 1952. His co-director was Leon Gluckman who played Biff, for the Sarah Sylvia Company.
