1982: It was the first play produced by Volute Productions and also the first South African performance of the play, opening 15 February 1982 at the People's Space. Directed by Maralin Vanrenen, designed by Bruno Santini, with Michael O'Brien (as August Strindberg), Mary Dreyer, Neville Thomas, Andrea Fine, Frantz Dobrowsky and Maria Schoeman. Costumes co-ordinated by Birrie le Roux, lighting designed by Andrew Todd. Music specially composed and arranged for this play by Marilyn Taylor.
