Born in Johannesburg. He passed away due to the complications of heart surgery on 29 April 2011.

Training

Studied Drama (BA and the Performer's Diploma) at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 1976.

Career

In the early years following his studies very involved with Theatre in Education and the SA Association for Theatre and Youth Theatre. Worked for a year for Robin Malan's PACT Playwork Company, a year and a half for CAPAB and then returned to Johannesburg in 1976.
