COMMITTIE, Alan. (19*-) Actor and stand-up comedian. *** is back at Kalk Bay! Two years ago, Alan brought you ''[[One Man, One Remote]]'' and now he returns with a sequel to his hit stand up revue ''[[Stressed to Kill]]''. In this his 8th one man show, Committie continues to explore all those strange quirky issues that create stress in our lives...He looks at the stress of business, the motivational speaker, 80's movies, hotels and travelling, ageing and overly aggressive relatives! He also takes a look at Self-help books and our desperate need to dumb down education! Alan is a qualified high school teacher and taught English, Afrikaans and Drama for five years in Cape Town.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He had roles in Diepe Grond, 1995, Macbeth, 1996, Noises Off, Lovborg's Women, Little Shop of Horrors.

He performed Dick and Di written by him at the Montecasino Theatre in 2004.

One-man performances as comedian (sometimes with appearances by his alter ego Johan van der Walt) include One Man, One Remote, Stressed to Kill, Stressed for Success! (directed by Christopher Weare), The Sound of Laughter 2015.

Defending the Caveman - took over from Tim Plewman in 2007.

Awards, etc

Nominated as best supporting actor, Bedside Manners.

He won a Naledi Award in 2008 as best comedy performance in Stressed to Kill.
