Liefste Veertjie is an Afrikaans film by Elmo de Witt (1935 – 2011)
The film
Based on the popular Afrikaans novel Waar Die Liefde Begin ("Where love begins") by Chris Heyns, the film is about the developing romance between Peet, a medical student in his final year, and Elaine, a cute freshman. Elaine's father is Dean of the Medical Faculty, very successful in his profession and by no means impressed with his daughter's actions.
Produced Johann Schutte, filmed by Elmo de Witt Films, directed by Elmo de Witt, with a script by Jan Scholtz, it was released nationally by Rand Films in 1975.
The film's cast consisted of Hans Strydom, Zaza Vorster, Zack du Plessis, Steve du Toit, Jan Bruyns, Sann de Lange, San de Lange, Ilse Potgieter, Pauline de Necker, Eddie de Waal, Philip Markgraaff, Carinda Greeff, Magda van Biljon and Klaas de Boer.
The film's crew included Art Heatlie (Music), Louis de Witt (cinematography), Gerrie van Wyk (editing), Colin Polson (make-up), Philip Markgraaff and André Scholtz (production management), Adriaan van Rensburg (sound), Fido Barnard (still photography), Johan van de Vyver (assistant camera), Hans Nel (costumer) and Helena Stockigt (continuity).
