Asperien vir die muse is ’n “klugspel in agt tonele” (meer digbundel as drama) wat in 1942 in Die Brandwag gepubliseer word en in 1947 ook in boekvorm. Die klug bevat satiriese verse waarin die skrywer skerp kritiek uitspreek teen van sy meer geroemde tydgenote en dit veral het oor die persepsie van wanverhoudings in die literêre kritiek. Sy eie ongepubliseerde drama Kom ons gaan blomme pluk word in die veertigerjare deur Johan Fourie se geselskap opgevoer en weer vin 1951 deur Pieter Pieterse se geselskap. In die beginjare van die Afrikaanse beroepstoneel verwerk en vertaal hy talle dramas vir die Hanekoms, André Huguenet en baie ander reisende toneelgeselskappe. Vir opvoering deur die Willem van Zyl-toneelgeselskap verwerk hy in die vroeë dertigerjare die drama Moederloos van Fanny Eden in Afrikaans en in September 1936 voer die André Huguenet-toneelgeselskap sy vertaling van Martin Vale se The two Mrs Carrolls op as Gevaarlike huwelik. In 1939 voer die Hanekom-geselskap die Duitser Otto Bastian se Kopf in der Schlinge op as Die vermiste getuie en Anton Ackermann se geselskap voer Carl Grubaum se Roza op. In 1940 volg die Hanekom-geselskap se opvoering van The unguarded hour deur Simon van der Poll as Agter geslote deure en in ongeveer 1943 voer Johan Fourie se geselskap Nothing but the truth van James Montgomery op as Wie loer kry niks. Mocke was ook ’n vriend van die Nederlandse akteur J. Plaat-Stultjies, vandat hy in die twintigerjare uit Nederland na Suid-Afrika gekom het. Vir Plaat-Stultjies versorg hy taalkundig en toneelmatig onder andere die drama Die kloue van Satan.
