Asperien vir die Muse ("Aspirin for the Muse") is a farce in 8 scenes by Ignatius Mocke (1912-1990).
The original text
The piece, actually more a collection of poems than a play, was originally published in Die Brandwag in 1942 and thereafter appearing in book form in 1947. It contains satyrical verses in which Mocke sharply criticises some of his more acclaimed contemporaries, and in particular expressing his opinions about misconceptions regarding literary criticism.
