No, No, Nanette [1] is a musical comedy with lyrics by Irving Caesar and Otto Harbach, music by Vincent Youmans, and a book by Otto Harbach and Frank Mandel, based on Mandel's 1919 Broadway play My Lady Friends. First performed in Chicago in 1925.
Performance history in South Africa
1925: Produced by Philip D. Levard at His Majesty's Theatre, opening on 24 August, 1925. In the cast were Violet Low (Nanette), Margaret Hickey (Lucille), Walter Thomas (Jimmy Smith), Billy Holland (Bily Early), Gladys Deane (Sue Smith), Floyd Gwynne (Tom Trainer), Ruby Vyvyan (Pauline), Doris Fillis (Betty), Mavis Kalmar (Winie), Nell Shepherd (Flora). It opened at the Cape Town Opera House on 27 October, 1925.
