Biography

Stage name of Philip Dennis Spencer. He married Violet Low in 1929.

As writer

He co-wrote (with Frank Dix) and directed Robinson Crusoe, presented by African Theatres in 1922/1923.

He co-wrote (with F. Maxwell Stewart) and directed Jack and the Beanstalk, presented by African Theatres in 1923/1924.

He was the producer of most of African Theatres’ major productions in the 1940s. Productions staged by him include:
