Pieter Jacobs (1980-) Playwright, actor and arts manager.

Biography

Youth

He was born in Bloemfontein and attended school in Kroonstad.

Training

Studied performing arts at the Tshwane University of Technology until 2001.

Career

Joined a touring performance group under the auspices of the ATKV (Afrikaanse Taal en Kultuur Vereniging).

He has also done event management in the United Arab Emirates.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As actor performed in various theatre productions in SA and Ireland, including Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Happy Endings are Extra.

His plays include Plofstof (KKNK, 2004, Winner of a Nagtegaalprys) and Dalliances (Artscape, 2008).
