As actress
Morkel was a member of the Handspring Puppet Company for three years. Productions with them include Mbira for Pasella (1984), Thirteen Clocks (1984)
Other productions include: Orpheus… I mean Euridice… I mean the Natural History of a Chorus Girl (1999), Life after the Credits Roll (1999), The Homosexual or the Difficulty of Expression (2004), The Travellers (2005), Coupé (2006), Grimm Tales (2007), Doctor Faustus (2008), High Diving (2009), Daddy, I‘ve seen this piece six times before and I still don’t know why they’re hurting each other (2012), The Sneeze (2014), Tobacco, and the Harmful Effects Thereof (2014)
