Life after the Credits Roll

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Aternative title: Life after the Credits Roll - a Piece for Five Performers and the Spirit of Makana, also witten Life after the credits roll - a piece for five performers and the spirit of makana.

A "theatre dance piece" workshopped by Robyn Orlin and her The City Theatre and Dance Group.

The piece deals with two subjects at the same time: 1) Nxele Makana, the Xhosa prophet and prisoner who drowned while escaping from Robben Island in 1819, and 2) the survival of theatre and the performing arts in the New South Africa, as this production does, on National Arts Council (NAC) grants.
