(There are multiple spelling variations of Yehudah HaMakabi [Hebrew: יהודה המכבי], most commonly known as "Judah Maccabee" also spelt Judas Maccabeus, Machabeus, or Maccabæus. He was a Jewish priest and a son of the priest Mattathias who led the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire [167–160 BCE]).
