Lochner de Kock (1950- ) is a South African actor, Afrikaans singer and lyric writer. Best known for his hit single Tussen Treine (Afrikaans for "Between Trains") which he recorded with Richard van der Westhuizen.

Biography

Married to Christine Pretorius.

Training

He studied at the University of Pretoria Drama Department and graduated with an Honours degree form the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department.

Career

Worked with PACT Playwork.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a playwright:

He wrote various educational plays for classroom use, among them Die Onsigbare Professor, Oupa waag 'n Kans and Piet Soek Werk. (Copies of the texts found in the Stellenbosch Drama Department's theatre archives and now held in the Performing Arts Research Collection (PARC) at the Africa Open Institute for Music, Research and Innovation, with offices at Pieter Okkers House, 7 Joubert Street, Stellenbosch, South Africa.)

He also wrote the play HTLV-3 and the television drama Grande Dame.
