Contents
The original text
Taking its title from the archaic word for "a star that guides", especially the northern pole star (and thus metaphorically someone that serves as an inspiration, model, or guide)[1], the play is a quirky, fantasy nativity, that features the Three Not-so-Wise Men and their battle with the wicked King Horrid as they journey along to get their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to Mary, Joseph and Jesus.
In 1988 a one-act version of the play, called Lodestar – A Christmas Fantasy, was published in Drama: Action and Interaction: A Collection of Plays and Activities by Academica, edited by W.R. Greyvenstein. (Reprinted 2003)
