Human & Rousseau
Human & Rousseau is a South African publishing house.
Founded in 1959 by authors and publishers Koos Human (1931-) and Leon Rousseau (1931–2016), the business initially focused on publishing new wrting in Afrikaans, but later started publishing broader based South African works, in both Afrikaans and in English.
Literary and other publications
Some publications relevant to South African theatre, media and performance published by Academica include Die Kleiner Kosmos. 'n Versameling Eenbedrywe (a collection of Afrikaans one-act plays, edited by P.P.B. Breytenbach and Temple Hauptfleisch, 1980), Players: A Collection of One-Act Plays (edited by Temple Hauptfleisch and Ted Townsend, 1987), Amateurtoneel in Suid-Afrika (a study of amateur theatre in South Africa by P.J. du Toit, 1988),
Like its parent company, it became part of the Naspers publishing empire in the 1990s.
