2001: A production sponsored by NBS [1] was staged in the Playhouse Theatre in Johannesburg in May, in the Tesson Theatre at the Johannesburg Civic in August and later in other venues like the Market Theatre. It was directed by Tim Plewman, with Paul Slabolepszy (Crispin Wentzel), Bill Flynn (Tjokkie Hetherington), Michele Levin (Svetlana Moloova), Anthony Bishop (Vladimir Brutonov), Claudia Maruzzi, Robin Smith, and Marisa Sarfatti (Allison Prescott).
