The original text
The play was developed through a collaborative workshop process by the author Dorian Haarhoff (acting as scribe), a director (Aldo Behrens) and students of the School of Arts at the Windhoek Academy. It was first performed in 1988 and the text was published in Goats, Oranges and Skeletons: A Trilogy of Namibian Independence Plays a collection of plays by Dorian Haarhoff, edited by Terence Zeeman (2000).
