Goats, Oranges and Skeletons: A Trilogy of Namibian Independence Plays is a collection of three plays by Dorian Haarhoff (1944-).

The collection

The three plays in the collection were developed through a collaborative workshop process by the author Dorian Haarhoff (acting as scribe), a director (either Aldo Behrens or Gerrit Schoonhoven) and students of the School of Arts at the Windhoek Academy.

The collection was published in Windhoek by New Namibia Books in 2000, the text edited and provided with a foreword by Terence Zeeman.

Contains the plays:

Orange (1988), Skeleton (1989) and Guerrilla Goatherd (1990).

Performance history in South Africa

1990: First performed at the Space Theatre, Windhoek, as part of Namibia's Independence celebrations, directed by Aldo Behrens, assisted by Melonie Pretorius.
