Victoria Bawcombe (19**-). Actress. Also credited as Vicki Bawcombe.

Biography

Daughter of Philip Bawcombe, industrial artist. Married to Adrian Galley.

Training

She began her studies at the University of Pretoria, transferred to UCT and graduated with a BA Performers Diploma (Bilingual) in 1983.

Career

Joined CAPAB Drama in 1984. In 1987 she moved to Johannesburg to freelance. Her activities include writing, live TV broadcasts and film.

She had roles in Diplomatic Baggage (1986), Women Behind Bars (1984), I Ought to be in Pictures (1985), As You Like It (Maynardville 1985), The Prince and the Sphinx (1987), Blithe Spirit (1989), The Insect Play (1983), Zerbinaetta in Die Jakkalsstreke van Scapino (1986), Measure for Measure (1987), The Winter's Tale (UCT production, 1981), Getting Out (1983), The Broken Heart (mid-1980s), Exit the King (1984), Kings of Rok (1986), Bremen Coffee (1985).

Awards, etc

In 1981 she won the Ruth Peffer Prize for Best Student in Dramatic Art. Fleur du Cap nomination for Best Actress in 1986 for I Ought to be in Pictures.
