She is a graduate of the Wits School of Dramatic Arts.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She was one of the creators of the play Tooth and Nail and assisted with the direction for the performance in 1991.
Carol is the author of a number of journal articles and chapters in books on theatre and co-author of the musical Love, Crime and Johannesburg.
She served on the State Theatre board announced in July 2000 as advisor to Dr Ngubane.

She shared the Vita Award 1999/2000 (Gauteng region) (Best Script of a New South African Play) for Love, Crime and Johannesburg with Malcolm Purkey.
