She joined the Rhodes University Drama Department in 1967 where she was concerned particulary with developing the teaching of voice and speech and the history of dance. She retired in February 2002.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Children's theatre became her special field and in her production of Winnie the Pooh she directed Alice Krige as Christopher Robin.

She appeared in a University of Natal, Department of Speech and Drama production of As You Like It as Phebe, acted in A Winter Vacation (1969), Private Lives (1969), Richard Gush of Salem (1970).

Assistant director Focus (1971), directed a Rhodes University Drama Department production of The Owl and the Pussycat (1976).
