Training
Graduated from P.U. for C.H.E.with an Honours Degree in Speech and Drama. Returned for an M.A. in Theatre Sciences.
Career
Joined PACOFS as actor and public relations officer. Started a freelance career.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Leon directed and acted in student productions while at university.
He had roles in Waiting for Godot (1970), We All Fall Down (1988), Nagspel (1997 and in 1999 as "Poen") and he played in Kringe in 'n Bos for SWAPAC.
Other productions include Die Nag van Legio, Olympia en Haar Vryers (1972), Amadeus (in Afrikaans, 1991).
He translated Ubu Roi into Afrikaans, entitled Koning Ubu.
