Andrew started his career with set designs for Hello, Dolly! (1980). He has since been a designer on more than a thousand projects, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1983), The Marriage of Figaro, Camelot, Sweeney Todd, My Fair Lady, Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar (1991), David Kramer and Taliep Petersen's Poison.
Some of many other productions for which he designed include All My Sons, Benefactors, Charley's Aunt, Children of the Wolf, The Comedy of Errors, Gigi, Hysteria, A Streetcar Named Desire, Janice Honeyman’s pantomime The Sleeping Beauty (1990), Other Places, Candide, Memoir, Wild Honey, Isn't It Romantic, Miscarriage of Murder, Virginia, Taking Sides, The Lady from Dubuque, Full Gallop, Burning Blue, Jerry's Girls, Art, Love, Julie, March of the Falsettos, Sinbad's African Adventures, The Martian Chronicles, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Side by Side by Sondheim, Master Class (McNally).
In 1987 he aided Stan Knight in converting the old B.G. Alexander Nurses Home hall into the Adcock-Ingram Auditorium for PACT. Did set and costume design for Gigi (PACT, 1992)
Designed for Taking Sides, 1997.
He created and designed the popular Queen at the Opera with Geoffrey Sutherland and Graham Scott (Durban Playhouse, 1990), followed by OPERAMania (with Packed House Productions, 2009).
He has worked in Greece, South Korea, Australia, China, Holland, Russia and Malaysia, including on Creators (for Cirque du Soleil [1], 200*).

He was nominated for a Vita Award (Gauteng region) for Hysteria (best set design).
