  • Thom Pain (based on nothing)* (2004) is a one-man play by the American playwright Will Eno, performed in English.

The original text

A monologue delivered by an everyman trying to make sense of the world and his place in it, it was a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and had earlier runs in Edinburgh, London and New York.

Performance history in South Africa

2012: Performed at the US Woordfees, Stellenbosch, presented by Thomas Channell Arts Management and made possible by Clover Aardklop, in the Klein Libertas Teater, on 2 and 6 March, on the Sanlam Dramafees programme. Directed by Tara Notcutt, with Albert Pretorius as Thom Pain. Performed in English.
