Stewart Printing Company

The Stewart Printing Company was a printing and publishing company active in South Africa during Second World War, especially the early 1940s.

Also found as the Stewart Printing Co. or Stewart Printing Co., Pty., Ltd.

Founded and/or managed by Charles L. Stewart, the premises were situated in Carlton House, Alfred Street, Cape Town. Among the works published and/or printed by the company in the 1940s were Medical Jurisprudence, A South African Handbook (Rhodes et al, 1942); Just Nuisance Carries On by Leslie M. Steyn (mid 1940s); The Table Mountain Guide (Mountain Club Of SA, 1st edition, ca.1944), Comrade Bill: The Life and Times of William Andrews, Workers' Leader (1944?);

Books specifically on theatre and the performing arts include L.I. Coertze's Afrikaans translations of Shakespeare's Hamlet (1945) and Macbeth (1948).
