Adapted by Robin Malan to a version set in Woodstock, Cape Town and utilizing the local dialects entitled Skyvers/Jollers [Cape Afrikaans for “Skyvers”].
Performance history in South Africa
1972: Skyvers/Jollers , was done at The Space (Cape Town) in December 1972, adapted and directed by Robin Malan with his cast (Phillip Boucher, Awie de Swardt, Bill Flynn, Dawie Malan, Robin Malan, Lynne Maree, Peter Piccolo, Paul Slabolepszy and Helena Stockigt) Malan left and was replaced by Pieter-Dirk Uys after two weeks. Lighting Les Broer, stage management by Donald Fuller and Bee Berman.
1978: Presented by Rhodes University as their entry to the S.A. University Drama Festival at the Sharp Festival of the Arts, Grahamstown. Directed by Christopher Weare, starring Andrew Buckland, Ian Roberts, James Whyle, Lawrence Hilton, Gordon Greaves, David Alcock, Christopher Weare, Noel Roos, Debbie Truter and Janet Buckland.
