Ruddigore

Ruddigore is a comic opera in two acts by W.S. Gilbert (1836–1911)[1] and the composer Arthur Sullivan (1842–1900)[2]

Also known as Ruddigore, or The Witch's Curse.


The original text

One of the Savoy Operas by Gilbert and Sullivan, it was originally called Ruddygore. First performed in 1887

1962: Staged by the Cape Town Gilbert and Sullivan Society

1975: Staged by the Cape Town Gilbert and Sullivan Society

1985: Produced by the Cape Town Gilbert and Sullivan Society and performed at the Baxter Theatre, directed by Teddy Davies. Cast: Cynthia Nixon, Elizabeth Wright, Charmaine Ferreira, Marianne McLean, Graham Boxall, Angus McBride, Margaret Hill, Forbes Smith, Peter Kramer, Kim Ribbink, Alan Saffery.

1995: Staged by the Cape Town Gilbert and Sullivan Society
