Riaan Visman

Riaan Visman (1983-). Actor, Talk show Presenter, Arts Practitioner, Fashionista, and Prospective Fashion Stylist.

Biography

Born and grew up in Oudtshoorn, son of Christiena and Andries Visman, and went to school at Hoërskool Môrester. In 1999 he became involved in the Oudtshoorn Dramaorganisasie Oudtshoorn Drama Organisation (led by Clive Thodore).

Training and career

Studied Drama at the University of Stellenbosch (2002-2004). Has done educational theatre with Arepp:Theatre for Life, taught drama at Northlink College. Manager of the Schools Liaison Unit for Artscape, and a member of the Western Cape Cultural Commission Committee.

Riaan has had roles in My Plaas se Naam is Vergenoeg (2004), Gideon van Eeden’s Boetman is Bedônit (KKNK and Aardklop, 2007), The Birds (Roy Sargeant, 2011-12); Die Storm (as "Stephano" 2007); Die Keiser (Gaerin Hauptfleisch, 2008); Die Laaste Karretjiegraf (Fugard Theatre, 2013); iSystem (2013); Kristalvlakte (2016).

Co-wrote and produced Kap'An with Abduragman Adams.
